The Coronavirus, now offically known as CORVID-19, is not only affecting people’s health around the world but is causing chaos in other areas that rely on China. This includes not only the obvious sectors like tourism and education but also the retail market whose many products rely on items from China. The issue is not the lack of materials but the lack of workers in the factories producing those items. Graham Hoskins from Cosmic Music in Perth says he is already experiencing issues even ordering parts for musical instruments (Perpitch, 2020).

Graham Hoskins (as cited in Perpitch, 2020), from Cosmic Music in Perth, says it’s not usually a problem sourcing parts for musical instruments “but unfortunately when we contacted the manufacturer, he said there’s no workers, the office is closed, the factory’s closed…so we can’t ship it for you”.
