If students still require the item/s they can be renewed either in person or via email, or through the online library catalogue.
If students do not return loaned items on time, the following overdue process is applied:
Junior Years’ Students
Junior Years’ students will receive verbal reminders from the Junior Years’ Teacher Librarian during their weekly library lessons. Parents / guardians will also receive two overdue slips a week apart via the classroom teacher a week after the item has become overdue. If an item has not been returned after three weeks, an overdue letter will be emailed to parents/guardians. After four weeks, if the overdue item is still not returned, a Final Notice letter will be emailed to parents/ guardians advising that the cost of the item will be charged.
Senior Years’ Students
In Senior Years’, students receive three overdue reminders a week apart via their College email account as soon as the item becomes overdue. If an overdue item has not been returned after three weeks, a letter will be emailed to parents/guardians. After four weeks, if the overdue item is still not returned, a Final Notice letter will be emailed to parents/ guardians advising that the cost of the item will be charged.
Damaged Items – All Students
If an item is returned damaged such that it is unable to be returned to the Library Collection, a damaged item notice will be emailed to the parent/guardian advising that the cost of the item will be charged.
Lost Items – All Students
Students who have lost an item are encouraged to inform library staff as soon as possible. If an item is not returned within a week after the Final Notice is sent parents/ guardians, the item will be treated as lost and the cost of the item will be listed charged.
A charge will be reversed if the item is returned in good condition to the library within two weeks of the date of the Final Notice. If a lost book is found after the two week period, the book is considered the property of the student.
