Shaping the Colonies
It is the 1800s. Australia has been colonised. People have migrated or been forced to move from the UK to Australia. The country is slowly taking shape. It took many people, both individuals and groups, to help establish and shape the colonies of Australia. This unit focuses on the people who played a significant role in helping to lay the foundations for the country we live in today.
This is a study of Colonial Australia in the 1800s.
You will look at the founding of British Colonies and the development of a colony.
You will learn what life was like for different groups of people in the colonial period.
You will examine significant events and people, political and economic developments, social structures and settlement patterns.
